Known for his energy, authenticity and empathetic characters, Dylan Hesp is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor, who brings the loveable losers of our world to life on both the screen and stage.
Launching onto the stand-up scene in 2012, Dylan was chosen to perform in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s prestigious Raw Comedy National Final with his character Stephen. Since then he has gone on to perform his mix of character based and observational stand-up alongside Australian favourites, such as Sam Simmons, Dave O'Neill & Cal Wilson. Widely respected for his attentiveness and enthusiasm, Dylan has entertained and MC'd at comedy clubs and corporate events right across Australia - all at just the young age of 26.
Following success on stage, in 2015 Dylan turned to the online space, creating comedy shorts for his social media audience on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. These digital shorts have received over a million views and have been viewed and shared by a growing audience around the globe who keep returning to Dylan's unique brand of comedy.
In 2017, Dylan co-created and starred in the multi-platform comedy series Australia's Best Street Racer, as part of Screen Australia and Screen Tasmania's #ComedyConcentrate initiative. 'Street Racer' was met with overwhelming industry response, with the ABC's Rick Kalowski claiming "He hadn't seen character acting like this since Chris Lilley!"
Street Racer has since been commissioned for a spin off series, currently in development for the ABC alongside One Stone Pictures. Whilst Dylan was handpicked by the team at Jungle to star alongside Genevieve Morris and Phil Lloyd in Sando, coming to ABC TV in 2018.
